Brief
Design  a "Back-To-School " experience that sparks excitement for the upcoming Schoolyear
Guidelines
1.Use the chosen branded products equally
Crayon For Crayola,Highlighter for Bic, and Post-It Notes for 3m

2.The player cannot "Fail"

This game was primarily for young children.
We did not want them to feel like they "failed" before even getting to school.
"Give Kids Positive Association with School"

3. School Setting
4. Try to stay away from direct competition

First Steps

With the player unable to fail and with limited competition features my team and I decided it would make the most sense to create a mini-game experience aimed at high scores and speedy completions. This game type allowed for some competition but nothing "Face to Face" between players.

But what were the stakes?
The STAR COUNT (akin to popular mobile games)
-Every level had 3 Stars
(1 star was very easy to obtain but 3 stars required a full completion)
-This feature allowed a casual player to progress while opening up a level of competition to see who could get the most stars

Once we knew the game type we assigned each brand a classroom and I got to work prototyping the missions (Classes)

Mission Ideation
Every Idea starts in Figma for rapid prototyping. Then discussed with the team to check feasibility and timelines needed for completion.

3 Classes and 2 mission sets per class
-Lots and Lots of Ideas were discussed

Design Pivots
Halfway through the experience's timeline, players were asking for more PVP "Classes".

So we introduced "P.E. Classes"
These classes were team based pvp game modes
allowing players to team up with or against their friends

-These offered Bonus Stars for participating
(Winners earned more)

-Set on a looped timer where players would do their Normal classes-->P.E. Class-->Normal Class-->ETC

P.E. classes were a hit and brought our CCU numbers and playtime higher than they ever were!

P.E. Class Gist: Collect as many coins as you can within the timer. Higher values are at greater heights so stack on the "Splorps" to reach them

Biggest Takeaways
Roblox thrives on PVP and the players want it.
If I were to design this again- I would have tried to find a way to make 1 pvp mission per class along with the solo/pve mission from the start
